A Computer Science student group is
working with CFL to develop a software programme that would be used by students
considering an online course to evaluate the capability of their computer
system to run course resources. This is a fourth year computer science
project. The student group is collaborating with Graham Fawcett.
Project Objectives:
- To successfully scan the students’ computer and store the
information,
so that the information could be used to provide students
with the
option of updating their computer according to the minimum
requirement needed for on-line courses.
-
Provide a diagnostic utility that will
test functionality of computer
hardware and software and report results
to the student and to the
CFL Administrator.
-
Provide wizard-like procedures for
installing required software and
for setting up the students’ computer.
- The
original setting of the students’ computer would be saved in
a
database so that the students can revert
back to it.
